Eating Fish Balls Sold in Asian Shop

Fig 01- Fish balls, ready to consume

We eat meatballs (beef), and “chicken balls” sometimes. When we went to Asian shop few months ago, we saw “fish balls.”

Fish ball was made of different kinds of fish, mainly marine or coral reef fish, some of them are:

- mackerel
- tuna
- cuttlefish
- grouper
- yellowfin fish
- other (few) freshwater fish

We cook fish ball as a soup with broth, and we occasionally adding with:

- noodle
- hard-boiled eggs
- tofu
- wonton (dumpling)

Fig 03- Packages of fish ball

We usually serve this kind of dish warm, and add with soy sauce and chili. For flavoring, we mix with fried slice onions.

Sure, the taste is delicious.

Yes, it is different compared to Swedish meatball, but sound similar in term of spicy.

Swedish meatball uses nutmeg or garlic as flavoring, and cook with creamy sauces.

In addition to Swedish meatballs, have you tasted fish balls or chicken balls?

  15. Tanza, No fish balls for me...only Italian or Swedish meatballs. Plus, I seriously doubt that we could find fish balls on a menu or in a restaurant anywhere here in East Tennessee. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
