Bee Swarm Removing Cost of Our Property – Economics 13

Fig 01- The swarm of bee in the backyard of neighborhood

We start to see swarm of bees around our neighborhood. Yes, this time around, in this spring or around March every years.

They may or may not enter our yard.

I believe and many people told me that bees have caused no damages to properties if they make nests on the nearby trees at backyards.

Bee will not attack us if we don’t provoke them. They may go away in days or months until summer is over.

They usually not return to the same spots in the coming year.

In case, and very rare that bees attach to house, then may lead to:

- making a hole in the Sheetrock

- annoying occupants

- leaking of honey through ceilings

Moreover, we need to remove the bee swarms to prevent further damages of our house.

Fig 02- One of wild flowers which is favorite to bee

How much the cost to remove bee swarms from properties?

Fig 03- Flowers in the garden.

Depend very much on where the bees infested whether on the trees or houses. The cost varies from US$ 45 to US$ 1,500. Average is about US$ 175.

Just to let you know that there are 20,000 species of bees in the world. Some important species are:

- Apis andreniformis

- Apis cerana

- Apis dorsata

- Apis florea

Have you ever faced with swarm of bees? Have bee swarms infested your properties?

  2. We have bees and bumble bees in our garden in summer, but not as many as we used to for example 20 years ago. Very hard-working they are. 🌺

  9. We have not had them ourselves, but my friends on the farm and they were under the roof near a tree. The costs to remove a wasp nest here amount to an average of € 65. This again depends on the amount of wasp nests around or in your house and garden. Wasps quickly become aggressive and put out nasty stings to protect their nest and young.

  10. Looks dangerous to me. I know they say there are less out there, but I dunno. My grandfather was a beekeeper and they never got into the house. He made some really good honey.

  11. No matter what..they can make things suspenseful. Even in a tree in the back yard is a little too close for comfort for me. I saw a picture on the net not long ago how someone went in to grocery shop and found a huge amount of bees in the car. Nature is finding a way to urbanize.

  12. Our bees have already woken up in our city hives. I didn't know they ruined your home. Here, wasps and hornets cause destruction.

  14. In my country it is free as the beekeepers will come and take the bees for themselves as an award. We even have city beehives for city bees from which cities collect honey and use the money for their needs.

  15. Sí, Tanza. Donde vivo en los altos de los bloques hay unos pequeños orificios y les dió por meterse en ellos, hubo que cerrarlos.
    Me gustan las flores.

  22. Thankfully, I've never seen a swarm of bees -- or ever even been stung! So, I'll take your advice and not bother them in the hope that they don't bother me. I never knew that they could make holes in sheetrock, though. Thanks for the interesting factoid!

  24. Tanza, I've never seen a swarm of bees. We do love our bees though...with the exception of the darn carpenter bees. They love to drill holes in the wood around the house and can do some real damage. Stay Safe and Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
