It is surprise me that Americans consume pineapple increasing year by year. From 3.22 pound (1.46 kg) per capita in 2000 to 7.80 pound (3.54 kg) per capita in 2018.
Pineapples are grown well in the most 3 states and 1 US territory:
- Hawaii
- Florida
- California
- Puerto Rico (US territory).
However, pineapple in the USA markets are imported from several countries such as:
- Costa Rica
- Honduras
- Mexico
- Guatemala
- Thailand
Is a Pineapple Healthy Fruit?
Yes!!
From many sources include from “healthline” (May 26, 2019), pineapples have some health benefits:
- boosting immune system
- speeding recovery from surgery
- rich in nutrients
- having antioxidants to fight many diseases
- reducing cancer risk.
It is recommended to consume about one cup (128 gram) of pineapple per day. Why?
Since pineapple has higher vitamin C content, consuming too much will lead to:
- nausea
- vomiting
- headache
- insomnia
- abdominal pain
Have you ever tasted pineapple? Do you like it?
...and it's yummy!

You don't want too much of a good thing. But it can be good for you too. I like it fermented..but even then you have to be careful..it can be intoxicating if you ferment it too long.
ReplyDeletePineapple juice and tequilla is good on occasion.

Thanks for visiting me. I love pineapple, and last few years I have leaned to judge if it's ripe and peel it! But the taste of the fruit is so much better than canned! Use it in several dishes.
