Our city locates in Southern part of USA, temperatures are varies from F 43 (C 6) to F 91 (C 33) degrees.
As far as I remember during last 10 years, I experienced the lowest temperature with F 25 (C -4) degree, and the highest temperature with F 106 (C 41) degree, like in the desert areas.
Yes, we have “cold” season, and what we called as a short “winter.” While summer is quite long, and very hot.
We are considered as rainy state, average of our rainfall was about 63 inches (160 cm) per year, quite higher compared to national average, 28 inches (71 cm) per year.
However, we did have snow, even though not every year. 3 last snows are in the following years:
- 2008
- 2010
- 2017
Snow fall in the specific days in the following years:
- 6 inches (15 cm) in 2017
- 1 inch (2.5 cm) in 2010
- 2 inches (5 cm) in 2008.
Since our city less experience with snowfall, its impacted very much on commute, especially in the early morning.
In general, our neighborhoods were happy with snowfalls. No school for Kids during the first day of snowfall.
Some neighbors show their talent to build snowmen. They have fun to show their creative.
Did your city get snowfall every year?
...snow can be a special treat!
ReplyDelete2019 was a very odd year here in Southern Finland, because the whole winter there was no snow, but then one day in May we had some 😀 This year, so far, not much snow except in Middle Finland and Lapland. When I was a child, we had snow every winter. ⛄️ We skied and skated. ⛸ Snow is pretty.
ReplyDeleteThat snowdog is wonderful 💙
The climate is to blame for the fact that problems such as severe storms, rain showers, etc. are now arising all over the world. We in the Netherlands do not receive real winters anymore. ALthough I do hope for some snow this year, just like we had in 2017.
ReplyDeletehttps://youtu.be/A9mJZ9CIpxE that's my movie I made then. The dog made of snow is really beautiful. Wish you also beautiful days even though these are a bit different. Since last night there are many restrictions here again and that was and is not a nice message but it runs very up here with the corona, so this is necessary. My message for you and all the other people I have put in English in my video below my words.
I see...thank you for your explanation....

It's been so dry here in the midwest. We always have some snow..more years than others. But we have a few inches on the ground at the moment. It isn't too bad. The snowplows were ready. I am thankful our state knows how to deal with the roads. Worst place I have ever been during an ice storm was Oklahoma. Horrible roads...and drivers.
ReplyDeleteSnow in December is really nice. Love your pictures!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen snow 😊 only, Photos and videolar or film ...

Tanza, We are in the mid-south and our average annual snowfall is about 6 inches although last year it was only 2.5 inches. Snow almost always melts within a day. FYI, 2020 and 2019 are 2 of the top 10 wettest years on record for our area with 2020 likely to come in at #3 by year end. 4 of the top 10 wettest years have happened here since 2013. Stay Safe and Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
ReplyDeleteSnow is pretty to see. If you don't get much snow during the years when you do, it can be very dangerous for the drivers. They don't have the experience of snow driving.

En Béjar nieva Tanza. Más en la siera. En el pueblo poco. Si que tenemos una o dos nevadas en invierno y enseguida se deshace. La última aquà fue en marzo, siempre en ese mes hay un dÃa que nos cae nieve.
ReplyDeleteBuenas fotos. CuÃdate.
Un abrazo.
We get way too much!

ReplyDeleteWe miss Christmas full of snow so much!
Greetings
Way to track your local snowfall! We don't get a lot of snow here (outside Atlantic City, NJ) either. Just today it snowed a ton toward Philly but we just got rain. Which I don't mind at all! Adorable snowman; your neighbors did a great job. :)
