What Kind of Rabbit is Good for a Pet? - Pet and Hobby 8

A rabbit is sitting calmly at the corner

Rabbit is one of favorite pets in my neighborhood. I have a lot of “fun” with this creature when I was kid.

However, some said they need more time to take care. On the other hand, many people said that the rabbits are easy to handle, because they can be trained like dogs or cats.

They are also:

- friendly

- affectionate

- amazing.

- social animal

In term of food, we may buy commercial food from pet shops or many big groceries. In addition, rabbits also love to feed:

- grass hay

- green leaf vegetable

- a little bit carrot (quite surprising for me that rabbits don’t eat carrot in nature)

Painting of a rabbit, just for illustration only

Water is essential for rabbits. It is because they eat grass hay, then they will drink more.

We have plenty of breeding to choose, based on internet searching, the favorites are following:

- Chinchilla Rabbit.

- Rex Rabbit.

- Harlequin Rabbit.

- Mini Lop Rabbit.

- Polish Rabbit.

- Dutch Rabbit.

Have you ever have rabbit as a pet? What do you think about rabbit as a house animal?

  2. They are cuddly. When I raised rabbits they multiplied. So consider that. The bunny in our garden is practically a pet. Some of the rabbits can grow so big too!

  3. Bunnies are getting really popular. And they seem to be easy to train too. I just don't know what they would be like when I would be sleeping though. I am not sure I would want to wake up next to a rabbit.

  8. Tanza, We had a rabbit when I was young...and it bit me in the chest, leaving a scar. I do like rabbits though...but I prefer cats because they're more interesting. Stay Safe and Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

  10. Es precioso Tanza. Mis hijos tuvieron una. Murió el año pasado con 11 años.
Hace tiempo le hice este post. Y por entonces publicaron un artículo de lo que les hacían en China Una crueldad.

  11. We had a pair of rabbit pets once but they multiplied too fast. Finally, we have to give them to a friend who had the compound for them.

  16. Hi Tanzania,

When I was single, my roommate had a rabbit that she let hop around the apartment much too often. It chewed little holes all along my bedspread. I was not happy. Thankfully she didn’t have it for long...She found it another home.
