Americans just mourned the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, supreme court justice due to pancreatic cancer.
At the last post, we talked about colon cancer which caused dead of film star, Chadwick Boseman:
- What is the Colon Cancer? - Cancer 5
Morever, plenty well known people diagnosed, and then died of pancreatic cancer. Few of them are:
- John Lewis, one of Americans civil right movement icons.
- Syd Barrett, English musician of Pink Floyd.
- Luciano Pavarotti, an Italian operatic tenor.
- Fernando Álvaro Lamas, an Argentine-American actor and director.
- Benoit B. Mandelbrot, a Polish-born, French and American mathematician.
This cancer development follows the age of patients: the older, the higher the risk:
- 45 age years or older are the typical patients.
- 55 age years or older are 90% of patients
- 71 years old are almost patients.
Pancreatic is the third dangerous cancer in the America. The two others are:
- lung cancer
- colon cancer.
Of 58,000 people who are diagnosed in 2020, about 10% survived only survived of pancreatic cancer. In number, 47,000 patients will die of this cancer.
The cancer could be managed when its at early stage, and not spreading to other organs yet. They usually be removed by surgery process.
