Each house in our neighborhood has yards with some trees, big and small, old and new trees. Species include oak, magnolia, cypress, crape myrtles, sugar maple, hollies and pines.
These yards and trees attract a lot of wildlife, both dangerous and friendly. Few of them are:
- squirrels
- turtles
- snakes
- otters
- raccoon
- rabbit
- coyotes
- birds (permanent and immigrant birds)

We found a new born squirrel on a yard recently. We guessed about several days old. She looks very weak.
It is said that Pedialyte milk or puppy milk is good for baby squirrels. After a while (several weeks), squirrels can feed their own natural foods:
- fruits
- nuts
- seeds
Have you ever seen a baby squirrel? How old?
No, I never have seen one except the one you have here. It sure is cute. I hope it gets stronger as time goes forward.
ReplyDelete...I've never seen one so small!
ReplyDeleteI’ve never seen a baby like that though we see young squirrels every spring.

I've never seen baby squirrel 😊
ReplyDeleteThis squirrel looks very sweet ;)
ReplyDeleteI also once found one and it was housed in such a squirrel sanctuary. Had previously checked if the mother was nearby but did not see it. Have you also provided this or is there a foundation in your area?

ReplyDeleteIt's so cute❤
ReplyDeleteOh, those squirrels. I don't see them as babies but ever so happen when they are running with the mom and dad. In recent years the black squirrels have moved in. Also our neighbors tend to feed these squirrels more and many are overweight. What do recommend feeding a squirrel? Not that I feed them.

Tanza, We've never seen a baby squirrel that was that small. In our neighborhood, despite new houses being built, we have skinks, rabbits, turkey, opossum, white tail deer, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, coyotes and fox. Every couple of years a young black bear wanders through the area looking for food and then moving on... Stay Safe and Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
ReplyDeleteSo cute!

There are many squirrels in my area but never have I seen a baby squirrel or even a picture of one such as this. Like most babies of any species it looks incredibly adorable and vulnerable. Hope it survives and thrives!
ReplyDeleteThis goes beyond cute :)

We've had several baby squirrels in our yard. Not as young as yours. They nest up in one of our trees.
ReplyDeleteEn muy linda. Cuídate.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
We have gray squirrels near our cabin, but I've never seen babies. The Swallows come here to nest so we see lots of their babies. - Margy
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a newborn one, although we have a couple of squirrels here in the wood. They live near the stream. Recently we met a racoon at night and yesterday I saw a young hegdehog on the stairs to the building. I usually give them my dog treats but this time she ate all before we met him :-)
