Is Parkinson’s Coming from Gut to Brain? - Parkinson’s Diseases 9

Gut infection affects on brain
(credit to GEN – Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology News)

My previous posts discussed connection between Parkinson’s Diseases and brains. Scientists have believed that at least there are two main caused of Parkinson’s:

- lack of dopamine production in the brain cells (Please read: How Neuron Cells Affect on Parkinson’s Diseases? - Parkinson’s Diseases 2)

- aggregation of protein called alpha synuclein

Recently, many scientists have suspected that Parkinson’s comes from gut infections. Then, from gut goes to brain.

In case alpha synuclein, researchers found this protein in great amount in brain cells of Parkinson's patients. They observe this protein in the gut too.

After injecting into mice’s gastrointestinal tracts, alpha synuclein travels into the brain. This neuronal protein is believed to link to Parkinson’s neuropathologically and genetically.

Several findings about relationship between intestine and Parkinson’s diseases are following:
1) Parkinson’s patients have uniques compositions of microbes in their intestines.
2) Microbes trigger accumulation of alpha synuclein to affect on Parkinson’s diseases.
3) Microbes in great number in the gut cause severe condition of motor symptoms of Parkinson’s patients.

Hope, these facts and new understandings will lead to solve the problems or cure Parkinsosn’s diseases in near future.

  1. Agora o covid-19 está em 1.º lugar. Não acredito, mas gostava de acreditar, que a doença de Parkinson tivesse um dia cura.
Mas não consigo acreditar. Nem uma vacina contra existe... penso eu...

    Cumprimentos
