This creature looks unique and beautiful with black spots along the body. Actually, garden spotted eel is fish.

Spotted eel found living to form colonies in deep sea of oceans, usually in the warm parts of oceans with areas characteristics:

May we adopt garden spotted eels as our pet? Since, this marine creature is not include in endangered species list, yes, we can keep the animal as a pet.

I check through internet, the price is quite expensive, US$ 69.9 per individual. We need at least 3 individuals to form colonies in our aquarium.

It is suggested to keep spotted eels in the aquarium with size at least:
- 50 gallons (189 litres) water
- 6 inches (15 cm) thick sand.

Do you know that you can see this eel in aquarium of several public zoos?

  1. What a sweet looking creature - but it is better off in the sea rather than a tank.

  3. I've never seen this one before and thank you for information but I'm not at all in favour of keeping animals in an aquarium. And this one certainly isn't. Let them be in their own habitat where they belong.

  4. Interesting. I have not seen this eel before. Anything that looks like snake is scary to me.

  6. Good morning: - For me eels, only stew (on the plate). The rest is to let them live in their natural habitats. The sea, perhaps.

  8. Tanza, Eels, fish and amphipians just don't do much for me as pets. If I wanted a pet, it would be furry. But, different strokes for different folks! My mother had a big aqarium for several years...until her pump quit one day when she was at work...and everything died. Stay Safe and Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

  10. Hmmmm, I'm not sure I would want an eel at that cost...do they stay healthy long in a tank? Probably better off in the sea.

  12. I think it may be better to leave this creature in wild unless it is endangered and can be bred in captivity. How many people would know how to look after such an animal? Very few I suspect.
