Can We Lose Our Weight by Consume Protein before Sleeping?

Many ways to fight obesity, one of them is by consume protein in certain amount before sleeping.

We might have a question: Why?

It is because protein may increase our “resting metabolism rate” (RMR) by next morning after we are wake up.

What RMR does to our body?
- burn calories
- burn fat
- more lean muscles

These three factors (burn calories, burn fat and more lean muscles) will lead to ideal body weight, thus make us to live healthy, and highly possibly live longer.

Some experts suggested to consume 30 gram of following foods about 2 hours or 30 minutes before going to bed:
- milk
- yogurt
- cheese

These 3 foods contain whey and casein protein. Some nondairy foods and protein supplements are contain casein protein as well.

What foods you eat before sleeping?

  4. I go to bed early and don't eat anything after 5.30 pm. I have a salad, a piece of fruit, tea, maybe a biscuit, a small bowl of ice-cream with some berries. I might try what you suggest and see what happens. Thanks. 🍎

  8. What foods you eat before sleeping? NOTHING. How can can one sleep with a stomach full? However, I love meat :-) Can't imagine living without them.

  10. This is very interesting. Working on night shifts, it was quite hard for me not to eat much before going to sleep because I get home at around 5:30am from work and I had to munch on something before I sleep and usually rice is the culprit that's why I get to "maintain" being overweight. I have to try this protein intake I think.
