The
little mermaid in the California
We
may know that statue of Little Mermaid was sculptured based on a
fairy tale of Danish writer, Christian
Andersen.
Commissioned
by Carl Jacobsen (a beer company owner), then bronze statue was
initiated by sculptor, Edvard Eriksen in 1909 .
The
statue of 1.25 m (4.1 feet) tall and 175 kg (386 lbs) weight sizes
was completed in 1913.
Copenhagen
city counsel displayed the statue close to to Tivoli Garden, nearby
water side of Langelinie.
Since
then, copies of statues have been spread around the globe either the
same or varies in terms of:

size (tall and eight).

materials (bronze, granite or stone)
-
poses (sitting, standing or swimming)
Little
Mermaid in Songkhla beach, Thailand.
We
may find a little mermaid in many countries across the world,
include:

Europe (Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, England, Finland, France, Germany,
Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, Monaco, Norway, Poland,
Portugal, Spain, Turkey and Switzerland).

South America (Brazil, Argentina, Columbia etc)

Asia (China, India, Indonesia, Thailand etc)

Oceania (Australia and New Zealand)

I love The Little Mermaid! It's my favorite Disney story. It's nice to know that there are mermaid statues all over the world. :)

I have seen it in Copenhagan and was surprised how small it is.
