40 million Guests Sleep on Camping Sites - Nature and Wildlife 1

A camping site in the dark

Across America, there are around 40 million people use camping sites as their temporary rest during travels by private cars each year. More than 10 thousands of camping grounds scatter in all 50 states.

Private campsites could cost US$ 21 per-night, while public sites such as national grasslands or national forests for free (not a penny).

The camping activities create a lot of revenue, more than US$ 5.8 billion is going to parks and camping grounds each year. In case of public sites, the income goes to either states or federal or municipal administrations.

Consumer spent around US$ 2.5 billion for camping equipment, some of them are:
-backpacks
-sleeping bags
-air beds
-hammock
-loungers

Entrance of one of camping sites

It seems quite good business for camping sites owners and for equipment industries, especially for small and medium companies.

You should expect full of guests during summer seasons. Often, no main grounds to rise a single tent. However, we may lucky enough to find small patch at edge of camping ground.
